Safety & Disclaimer
Please read this before relying on anything the app shows you.
How to read the app's outputs
Tank to Pump uses simplified training models, generic apparatus layouts, and training-math defaults. Everything it calculates or simulates is an educational estimate meant to teach the mental model — not to match your real equipment.
The numbers may not match your department's:
- apparatus, pump performance, or pump/hose configuration
- hose packages or nozzle packages
- operating procedures, water supply, or environmental conditions
So use the app to understand and practice, and use your department's approved formulas, SOPs/SOGs, apparatus manuals, and instructor guidance for anything operational.
Not for live incidents
Tank to Pump is not a live-incident decision tool or a real-time fireground operating guide. Do not use the app while operating apparatus, driving, pumping at an incident, or performing any safety-critical duty where looking at a device could distract from the operation.
Not a certification
Tank to Pump does not certify competence. It does not replace hands-on pump training, instructor evaluation, local SOPs/SOGs, apparatus manuals, department policies, or authority-having-jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements. Features like Checkoff Prep help you prepare — they are not a checkoff record.
Where you'll see the disclaimer
A training-aid reminder appears throughout the app — on every calculator, in every scenario, on the progress/account pages, and on a dedicated disclaimer page. The short forms you'll see read like this:
"These are simplified training calculations. Use your department's approved formulas, hose coefficients, SOPs/SOGs, and apparatus guidance for real operations." — on calculators
"This is a simplified training scenario. Real operations depend on your apparatus, water supply, department procedures, instructor guidance, and AHJ requirements." — on scenarios
