Scenarios
Practice pump operations in realistic scenarios. Each scenario guides you through a specific situation with coaching, feedback, and a debrief.
First Line from Tank
Establish a hoseline from the onboard tank supply. Engage the pump, open the tank-to-pump valve, open a discharge, and bring PDP into the target range.
Recirculation and Heat
The pump is running but no water is flowing — the pump is overheating from recirculation. Diagnose the condition and correct it before the pump temperature reaches a critical level.
Hydrant Transition
The fire is escalating and the tank supply is nearly exhausted. A hydrant has been laid — transition from tank to hydrant supply while keeping the attack line in the target pressure range.
Add a Second Line
Add a second attack line while maintaining adequate pressure on the first. Manage the increased flow demand and keep both lines in range.
Weak Hydrant
Diagnose and manage a hydrant that cannot deliver enough flow for the target pressure. Recognize the supply limitation and adapt your operations.
Drafting Failure
Identify and recover from a loss of prime while drafting from a static water source. Diagnose the cause and restore the water supply.
