What an Automatic Nozzle Does
An automatic (constant-pressure) fog nozzle adjusts its own opening to hold its design nozzle pressure across a wide range of flows. Feed it a little water and it chokes down; feed it a lot and it opens up — either way the stream looks crisp and the reach feels similar. That self-adjustment is the feature. It is also the trap.
